The Government has decided to maintain fuel price under a flat rate for at least one year irrespective of the world market price, said Cabinet Spokesman Minister Bandula

All national education institutes, teacher centers and teaching colleges throughout the country will reopen on April 20th, the Education Ministry stated.

The closing date for the accepting of theinterest-free loan scheme applications granted to students by the Higher Education Ministry has been extended indefinitely.The closing date for the acceptance of the student loan applications was earlier set by the Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Ministry was the 23^rdof February 2020.

All officials of the education field including Education Ministry officials have been notified under circularED/01/21/3/9 on March 13^ththat measures should be taken to educate the teachers, students andother staff members regarding the measures needed to be taken in order to avoid being infected by the Coronavirus which has now been declared as an epidemic by the WHO.
