NEW DELHI: Gains in Suzlon Energy (up 2.83 per cent), Graphite India (up 2.20 per cent), BEML (up 1.77 per cent) and Larsen Toubro (up 1.59 per cent) gave a boost to capital goods index during Wednesday's trade.The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 1.08 per cent up at 18,619 around 12:30 pm.
Shares of GE TD India (up 1.52 per cent), NBCC (India) (up 1.40 per cent), Sadbhav Engineering (up 1.22 per cent) and Bharat Electronics (up 1.02 per cent) climbed over 1 per cent.Va Tech Wabag (up 0.84 per cent), Mahindra CIE Automotive (up 0.82 per cent), Siemens (up 0.61 per cent), SKF India (up 0.57 per cent), Thermax (up 0.43 per cent) and Carborundum Universal (up 0.19 per cent) also found themselves among the gainers.On the other hand, Welspun Corp (down 1.86 per cent), Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 1.59 per cent) and CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 1.01 per cent) declined over 1 per cent to feature among the top losers in the capital goods index.Shares of Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 0.68 per cent), Havells India (down 0.56 per cent), ABB India (down 0.29 per cent), Lakshmi Machine Works (down 0.29 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 0.26 per cent) and AIA Engineering (down 0.17 per cent) were also under pressure.Equity benchmarks pared some losses on gains in State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Larsen Toubro and Infosys.Benchmark BSE Sensex was 18 points down at 34,633, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 23 points at 10,514.
In the Sensex index, 13 stocks were trading with gains, while 18 were suffering losses.State Bank of India, surging over 5 per cent, was leading the pack of Sensex gainers.
