NEW DELHI: With nearly 7.28 crore shares changing hands, Jaiprakash Associates finished Thursday's session as the most traded stock on NSE.Reliance Communications (number of shares traded: 6.94 crore) and Tata Motors (4.61 crore) stood up next.ONGC (3.48 crore), State Bank of India (3.47 crore), NCC (3.46 crore), PC Jeweller (2.84 crore), Ashok Leyland (2.11 crore), Adani Power (2.04 crore) and Vedanta (2.02 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on NSE.Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty settled in the positive zone on gains in IT, bank, financial, telecom, pharma and metal stocks amid mixed global cues.The Sensex surged 318 points, or 0.93 per cent, to finish at 34,663, while Nifty50 climbed 84 points, or 0.80 per cent to rest at 10,514.In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks advanced and 16 declined, while in Sensex 24 remained in the green and 7 in the red.Barring Nifty Auto and realty, all sectors closed with gains on Thursday, with Nifty IT at the top.Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Axis Bank, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel emerged as the top gainers in the Nifty index on Thursday.On the contrary, Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC, Grasim, HPCL and Bajaj Auto remained the top losers in the index.
