Shares of Bajaj Auto rallied over 2 per cent in Fridays morning trade after the company posted a 30 per cent rise in total sales at 4,07,044 units in May 2018 against 3,13,756 units in May 2017.The companys total exports out of the above figure stood at 1,82,419 units, a gain of 31 per cent as compared with 1,39,709 units sold in the corresponding month last year.The sales of the motorcycles increased by 24 per cent and stood at 3,42,595 units in the month under review against 2,77,115 units in May 2017.
The company has reported 76 per cent rise in commercial vehicles sales, which stood at 64,449 units as compared to 36,641 units in month of May 2017.The scrip was trading 2.35 per cent up at Rs 2,816.95 at around 9.50 am (IST), whereas BSE Sensex was up 109 points, or 0.31 per cent, at 35,431.82.Bajaj Auto is the worlds fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer.
The company has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
