NEW DELHI: While key equity indices were in the positive territory, shares of Maharashtra Seamless (up 10.23 per cent) and Shriram EPC (up 9.07 per cent) zoomed up to 10 per cent in morning trade on Friday, emerging among the top gainers in today's trade so far.Stocks such as Firstsource Solutions (up 5.51 per cent) and Sudarshan Chemical Industries (up 5.31 per cent) surged over 5 per cent.
Equity benchmarks were up following robust growth data for the March quarter.Investors creating new positions at the beginning of the June futures and options (FO) series also lifted the key indices.The NSE Nifty index was trading 15 points up at 10,751, while the BSE Sensex was up 63 points at 35,385 around 10:25 am.In the Nifty index, 28 stocks were trading up, while 22 were down.Nifty Auto, IT, media, metal and pharma indices were witnessing buying interests.Nifty Bank index was down on losses in IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and State Bank of India.
Bajaj Auto, Vedanta, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors were leading the pack of Nifty gainers.
