NEW DELHI: Shares of Everest Kanto Cylinder (down 13.01 per cent) and Punj Lloyd (down 11.34 per cent) plunged over 10 per cent on NSE, featuring among the top losers of Thursday's session.Nectar Lifesciences (down 6.38 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (down 6.28 per cent) tanked over 6 per cent, whereas Intrasoft Technologies (down 5.23 per cent), Man Industries (India) (down 5 per cent), Jindal Worldwide (down 4.99 per cent), Emami Infrastructure (down 4.99 per cent) and Goldstone Infratech (down 4.99 per cent) declined up to 5 per cent.Sustained selling in a majority of sectors, led by IT, bank and consumer durables, in the light of weak global cues weighed on market sentiment as benchmarks Nifty and Sensex snapped their 3-day winning streak on Thursday.Sensex closed down by 139 points or 0.39 per cent to 35,600 on Thursday.
However, Nifty managed to hold the psychologically important level of 10,800.
The 50-share index settled 49 points, or 0.45 per cent, down at 10,808.In the Nifty pack, 20 stocks settled in the green and 30 in the red.
The Sensex index saw 14 stocks advancing and 17 declining at the end of today's session.Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Adani Ports, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Indian Oil Corporation stood as the top losers in the Nifty index.The Nifty IT index finished Thursday's session as the top loser among the sectoral indices on NSE.
