NEW DELHI: The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.13 percent down at 28,673 around 02:55 pm on Tuesday.
Shares of Tata Global Beverages (down 3.03 per cent), Godrej Industries (down 2.99 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (down 2.01 per cent) were the top losers in the index.Britannia Industries (down 1.89 percent), Emami (down 1.55 per cent), Dabur India (down 1.26 percent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (down 1.13 percent), Marico (down 0.98 per cent) and United Breweries (down 0.64 per cent) were also under pressure.On the other hand, shares of Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.99 per cent), United Spirits (up 0.98 percent) and ITC (up 0.49 percent) were trading with gains.
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (up 0.07 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.08 per cent) and Procter Gamble Hygiene Healthcare (down 0.01 per cent) were nearly flat around that time.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 70 points down at 10,730, while the BSE Sensex was 193 points down at 35,355.
Amongst the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were selling the green, while 40 remained in the red.
Bajaj Finance, GAIL (India), ITC, HDFC and HDFC Bank were amongst the leading gainers in the Nifty index.On the contrary, Vedanta, Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL were leading amongst the Nifty losers.
