NEW DELHI: Shares of private banks were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's morning session.Shares of Yes Bank (down 3.44 per cent), RBL Bank (down 0.82 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.45 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.39 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While IndusInd Bank (up 0.54 per cent), City Union Bank (up 0.49 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 0.45 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.39 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.16 per cent down at 17,782.1 around 09:35 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 18.20 points at 12,347.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 42.17 points at 41,901.86.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Codafone Idea, SAIL, GMR Infra, GAIL, Tata Motors, Tata Global, Bank of Baroda, SBI and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
