NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index was trading 1.38 per cent up at 13,985 around 10:10 am (IST) on Monday, backed by gains in shares of Mindtree (up 3.45 per cent), KPIT Technologies (up 3.41 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.67 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.67 per cent).Shares of Wipro (up 1.39 per cent), Infosys (up 1.19 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 0.75 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.43 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 0.19 per cent) were also in the green.Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.42 per cent) was the only stock in the IT index that was slightly down around that time.
The benchmark BSE Sensex reclaimed the 35,000-mark and Nifty went past 10,700 today on sustained buying by participants, driven by strong corporate earnings and positive global cues.
The NSE Nifty50 index was 44 points up at 10,736, while the BSE Sensex was 166 points up at 35,135.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
State Bank of India, Lupin, TCS, HCL Tech and HDFC were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.However, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, UPL, BPCL and Bharti Infratel were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
