NEW DELHI: The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.64 per cent up at 19,289 around 12:15 pm (IST), backed by gains in Graphite India (up 4.99 per cent) and Havells India (up 1.80 per cent).
Shares of Lakshmi Machine Works (up 1.27 per cent), Siemens (up 1.17 per cent), V-Guard Industries (up 0.87 per cent), Larsen Toubro (up 0.82 per cent), Suzlon Energy (up 0.69 per cent) and BHEL (up 0.60 per cent) too were gaining in trade.
On the contrary, Welspun Corp (down 2.92 per cent), Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 2.18 per cent), SKF India (down 1.82 per cent), Va Tech Wabag (down 1.15 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 1.09 per cent) declined over 1 per cent in the capital goods index.Equity benchmarks edged up on gains in select IT, metal, bank and auto stocks.
The BSE Sensex was up 58 points at 35,274, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 12 points at 10,730.
In the Sensex index, 17 stocks were in the green, while 14 were in the red.
Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paints were leading the pack of Sensex gainers.
