A Russian air attack on Ukraines southern Zaporizhzhia region eliminated one person, local authorities said early Thursday.Russian forces are attempting to take full control of the frontline area, which Moscow declared to have annexed in 2022, months after the full-blown invasion of Ukraine.The Russian military released 11 assisted aerial bombs on the village of Stepnogorsk, just a few kilometers from the front line, late on Wednesday.

Rescuers eliminated his body from under the debris, the Zaporizhzhia region Governor Ivan Fedorov said on Telegram.The strike comes amidst an escalation in air attacks, consisting of Russian drone strikes on the center of Kyiv that eliminated 2 people in the early hours of New Years Day.Ukraine fears a possible restored Russian offensive toward the regional capital of Zaporizhzhia, around 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the cutting edge and still under Ukrainian control.
