The Department of Meteorology says that showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts tomorrow (23).In its latest weather forecast, the department mentioned that heavy showers of about 100mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Puttalam districts.Meanwhile, several spells of light showers will occur in Matale, Anuradhapura and Mannar districts, it added.Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts, according to the Met.
