Tejas Express train service have resumed between Chennai-MaduraiIndian Railways authorities revoked the cancellation of the Tejas Express train service between Chennai and Madurai, ahead of the Pongal festival.
According to the Southern Railway zone, fully reserved Tejas Express Superfast special train services have been reintroduced on the network.
The details of the Tejas Express Superfast train services which will operate between Chennai-Madurai are as follows:Train number02613 Chennai Egmore Madurai Tejas Special train will run sixdays a week (except Thursday) leaving Chennai Egmore at 06.00 AMfrom January 10,2021, onwards and will reach Madurai at 12.15 PM, the same day.
It will halt at the Kodaikanal Road station.In the return journeytrain number02614 Madurai - Chennai Egmore Tejas Special train will run sixdays in a week (except Thursday) leaving Madurai at 3:00 PMfrom January 10, 2021 onwards and will reach Chennai Egmore at 9:15 PM,the same day.
It will halt at Kodaikanal Road railway station(Also Read:Indian Railways To Seek Investment Of 30,000 Crore For Running Private Trains)Earlier train number 02613/02614 Chennai Egmore Madurai Chennai Egmore Tejas Special was cancelled from January 4, 2021.
Now the services have resumed and passengers holding either online/PRS counter tickets for journeys commencing on or after January 10, 2021, booked prior to cancellation and who still have not cancelled their tickets, can travel using the same tickets by Tejas Express.In 2020, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporationhadsuspended the Lucknow-New Delhi and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Tejas Express services, following poor occupancyand an increasein COVID-19 cases.
