LAHORE: PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif is being treated in a ‘shabby manner’ at the Adiala prisons which is ‘highly detrimental for his well being and health’, stated Shahbaz Sharif in a letter to interim chief minister Punjab Hasan Askari Rizvi.
The members of Sharif family met with the former prime minister, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt. (retd) Mohammad Safdar on Saturday at the Adiala prisons.
In a strongly worded letter, Shahbaz highlited the 'pathtetic' conditions of tha jail where his elder brother was incarcerated.
Shahbaz wrote: "It was noted during my visit that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not even given a newspaper to read, his mattress was on the floor and the washroom at his disposal was in a dirty despicable condition, with no air conditioner in his room. No attendant was there and medical checkup facility also is not up o the mark. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif being a heart and diabetic patient needs medicine timely plus frequent visits of a doctor. His personal doctor, who knows his medical condition, should be allowed to0 visit him twice a day, administering medicine and examining a clean diet."
"It is very unfortunate that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, three time Prime Minister of Pakistan, is being treated in such a shabby manner. This situation is unacceptable given the minimum facilities he is entitled to as former Prime Minister," the letter further read.
