LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has invited disgruntled PML-N leader and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to join his party.

Talking to reporters in Lahore, the PTI chairman praised Nisar for showing courage and refusing to work under Maryam Nawaz.

'Nisar is my old friend and I'm happy that he stood and refused to take orders from a lady who has no position in the party other than being Nawaz Sharif's daughter,' Khan said.

This is not the first time that Nisar is invited by PTI, disgruntled PML-N leader has been offered several times to join Khan's party. Earlier this month, some media reports claimed that Nisar is likely to join PTI soon, however, he denied such rumours.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is trying to win over the former minister and has met him four times in the last few days.

Commenting on expelling the MPAs who sold their votes in Senate elections, PTI chief said everyone knew what happened in elections but no party came forward to fight this menace and only PTI investigated the matter.

'Now those who have been named have the opportunity to appear before the committee and clear themselves, else PTI will move corruption references against them in National Accountability Bureau.'

The PTI on Wednesday identified 20 legislators who sold their votes in the recent Senate election.

The names of those allegedly involved in horse-trading were also shared with the media. They include PTI’s Nargis Ali, Deena Naaz, Sardar Idrees, Obaid Mayar, Zahid Durrani, Fouzia Bibi, Naseem Hayat, Qurban Khan, Arif Yousaf, Amjid Afridi, Abdul Haq, Javed Naseem, Yasin Khalil, Faisal Zaman, Sami Alizayi.

The list also included Meraj Hamayun from the QaumiWatan Party (QWP) of Aftab Sherpao, Khatoon Bibi and Babar Saleem from the Awami Jamhoori Ittehad and Wajihuz Zaman from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who had joined the PTI.
