ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar is not likely to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf after parting ways with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), Geo News reported on Saturday.
According to the TV channel, the mercurial leader of the PMLN is due to hold a press conference latter in day where he would discuss party matters and the current security and political situation of the country.
“He will leave the decision regarding PML-N’s future on the party leadership,” Geo quoted a source close to PMLN stalwart as saying.
The former minister, the TV said, would not ask the party leadership for a ticket to contest election.
The source said the Nisar Ali Khan would contest the election as an independent candidate if the party does not award him the ticket.
Shahbaz Sharif has had several meetings with the disgruntled leader after being chosen as President of the PMLN.
Nisar Ali Khan has made it clear that he is not dependent on party ticket to win elections.
