Congress has alleged that Telangana state government is neglecting healthworkers fighting against coronavirus.
(Representative photo: Reuters)The Congress's Telangana unit has alleged that the ruling TRS government is neglecting corona warriors in the state even as coronavirus cases continue to rise in the state."Frontline warriors including doctors, para-medical staff, police personnel, sanitation workers, journalists and others are not receiving required help from the state government.
Those getting infected by the coronavirus while saving others' lives are themselves not getting the required medical attention.
Not only healthcare workers but police personnel are also not getting free treatment under the 'Aarogya Bhadra scheme' because of the non-payment of dues by the State Government to private hospitals," alleged Congress leader G Narayana Reddy.Narayana Reddy demanded that the entire list of frontline warriors who have been infected and succumbed to coronavirus must be released in the public domain.Congress expressed disappointment over Chief Minister K.
Chandrashekhar Rao not holding 'a single meeting to check the facilities being provided to frontline warriors.'This is nothing but an utter form disrespect to people who are risking their lives to save others," alleged Reddy.Congress also hit out on the BJP-led central government and said, "The Center simply shifted the blame on state governments saying that it was their duty to maintain the data as health is a state subject.
This is completely inhumane.
Unfortunately, the situation is much worse in Telangana where TRS government is not maintaining any data of frontline workers," he said. The opposition party also alleged that the state government has been tampering and manipulating data of coronavirus cases and deaths in Telangana.
