We ask her friends and well-wishers to keep her in their thoughts.
Our family is especially grateful to all those who supported her during her illness," he said in a tweet.The minister also shared a picture of his mother who was in her 80s at the time of her demise on September 19.The late Sulochana Subrahmanyam is survived by her sons- Jaishankar, S Vijay Kumar and Sanjay Subrahmanyam.
While S Vijay Kumar is a former IAS officer, Sanjay Subrahmanyam is a noted Indian historian and Dr Jaishankar is India's External Affairs Minister.Union ministers Kiren Rijiju, Dharmendra Pradhan and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi along with BJP leaders Ram Madhav and Swatantra Dev Singh expressed their condolences on Twitter along with Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and actor Riteish Deshmukh among others.K Subrahmanyam, Dr Jaishankar's father was a widely respected strategic affairs expert who was also known as the architect of India's nuclear doctrine.
