BAREILLY: A 25-year-old woman, Reena Gupta, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Umesh Gupta, for uploading her photograph on a social media account.The couple, married four years ago, lived near Roza town of UP's Shahjahanpur district.

Umesh initially tried to mislead cops by telling them his wife was "killed by some robbers who had barged into their house at night".Later, he confessed to the crime.SSP, Shahjahanpur, Ashok Kumar Meena told TOI on Tuesday, “We registered an FIR against the husband under IPC section 304-B (dowry death) on the complaint of the victim's kin.

The body has been sent for autopsy.

The suspect is in our custody.” Reena’s body was found outside her house around 4am on Tuesday.

Police were informed, and local SHO along with forensic experts reached the place.

They were joined by SSP Meena and SP (city) Sudhir Jaiswal.

Police found Umesh's statement to be "contradictory to circumstantial evidence" and detained him.

The police have announced a hefty cash reward for their capture.

While some of the accused have been killed in separate encounters, the whereabouts of these three individuals remain unknown.

The police have conducted raids and operations to gather information about the shooters, Guddu Muslim, Sabir, and Arman.
