CHITWAN, MAY 26An excavator driver was killed this morning when a landslide fell on bridge number three in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-5 under the Narayangadh-Muglin road section. Bridge construction along Narayangadh-Muglin road section in full swing Landslide disrupts Bensisahar-Chame road According to the District Police Office Chitwan, 38-year-old Mangal Chaudhury of Bardiya Geduwa Rural Municipality-4 was operating an excavator (Ba 2 Ka 8651) when the landslide occurred.

Chaudhury was cutting a wall for road expansion when he was buried under the debris along with the excavator.Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bheshraj Rijal, spokesperson at the Chitwan DPO, stated that Chaudhury was rescued and taken to the Old Medical College for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries.

"The excavator was completely damaged in the landslide, and a truck (Na 6 Kha 1511) coming from Muglin towards Narayangadh was also damaged," DSP Rijal added. Despite the incident, vehicle movement along the road section has not been halted, and efforts to clear the landslide are ongoing, according to DSP Rijal. .
