KATHMANDU, JUNE 12The United States Embassy of Nepal and Nepal Consulate in Seattle of the Washington State successfully organised a five-day-long consular camp benefiting over 500 service seekers, according to organizers. Nepal's ambassador to US Sridhar Khatri and a team from the embassy actively facilitated the camp in which individuals from Washington State, Portland, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, San Francisco, California, San Diego, Minnesota, St.

Louis, Colorado, Texas, Utah, Tennessee and Hawaii visited the camp for prompt services, according to Sherpa. The 7 Summits Foundation has provided the logistical support to conduct the camp from 9:00am to 7:00pm each day.

"The 7SF was supported financially and voluntarily by various organizations including the Washington State Nepali Community Center (WSNCC), Nepal Seattle Society (NSS), NRN Chapter of Washington State, NRN Chapter of Portland, Oregon, US Nepali Veteran Army, Washington State and Veterans of US Army and other individuals for the camp," Sherpa added.The joint efforts have had a significant impact and have set a positive example for Nepali community and others.

"This event was crucial for the Nepali community, and we greatly appreciate the support and accommodation provided by the Hilton Garden Inn," he added.Sherpa also applauded the active role of Uttam Ghimire, Radharaman Dubey and Tapashwi Karki for their hard work to make the camp a grand success.Ambassador Khatri has congratulated the Honorary Consul for successfully managing the camp.

"The Embassy fully understands the difficulties of e-passport applications as they have to physically be present at the embassy for biometrics, that is the reason the embassy is committed to providing mobile services, particularly to the applicants living far from DC," the envoy said, adding that the embassy has made plans to conduct at least four such camps annually giving consideration to the concentration of Nepali daispora and the distance to travel and the consular camp in Seattle is factored in embassy's planning.Saying the Seattle is the city with full of opportunities to attract investment and technology for Nepal as the city hosts number of fortune 500 companies including Microsoft and Amazon, ambassador Khatri noted that role of Honorary Consul Sherpa in engaging with these companies in coordination with the embassy will likely have a positive impact in promoting, particularly IT sectors of Nepal. .
