At a programme organized by Dharmadfevi Municipality at Mudheshanischare Bazar today, he said the people's representatives and employees should engage their entire efforts to address the development needs of the people.He said that the local development works have been affected with the budget appropriated for local level governments remaining unused.
He also pledged to solve the problems in the energy, water resources and irrigation sectors.Secretary at the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission, Suresh Acharya said the Sankhuwasabha district, which has immense potential for hydropower, tourism and agriculture sectors, could make strides in development by utilizing these resources.He said the secretariat was working with a target of generating 28,500 MW of electricity in the next 10 years.Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Gopal Prasad Sigdel said 90 per cent area of sankhuwasabha has been fully electrified.
Director General of the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Sanjeev Baral said that small irrigation projects would be implemented keeping in view the risk of landslide in the hilly district, Sankhuwasabha.
