President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has focussed attention on transforming the railway service to a more efficient and people-friendly service.

Based on a concept by Education Minister Dallas Alahapperuma, the school performance indicator system has been formed using the Stanine Scale to measure the performancelevel of all those engaged in the education field. This could measure the individual performance level of all schools district wise and country wise and would be published in the Examinations Department Official Web-site.

Those arriving in the country from Coronavirus infected countries such as Italy, South Korea and Iran have been sent to quarantine centres are they are being closely monitored and checked daily as a precautionary measure in order to prevent the Coronavirus from spreading in the country, said Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe.
