NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was trading in the red in Monday's session.

Shares of Jindal Steel - Power (down 7.91 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 5.69 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (down 5.09 per cent), Vakrangee Ltd (down 4.92 per cent), Wockhardt (down 4.2 per cent), Bharat Electronics (down 4.16 per cent), Indian Bank (down 3.66 per cent), National Aluminium Company (down 3.6 per cent), Sun TV Network (down 3.56 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 3.5 per cent), Oil India (down 3.44 per cent), LIC Housing Finance (down -3.43 per cent), Natco Pharma (down -3.35 per cent), Info Edge (India) (down -3.35 per cent), NBCC (India) (down 3.32 per cent), 3M India (down 3.3 per cent), Canara Bank (down 3.01 per cent), L-T Finance Holdings (down 2.97 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 2.85 per cent) and HUDCO (down 2.83 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S-P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.89 per cent down at 15,554.74 around 02:28 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 184.45 points at 11896.4 , while the BSE Sensex was down 573.58 points at 40,596.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, Jyothy Labs, Tata Motors, SBI, Varun Beverages Ltd., ONGC and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
