NEW DELHI: Shares of PSUs were trading higher in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of NHPC (up​ 2.32 per cent)​, NTPC (up​ 1.37 per cent)​, Bharat Electronics (up​ 1.34 per cent)​, Indian Oil Corporation (up​ 1.27 per cent)​, Coal India (up​ 1.17 per cent)​, Bharat Heavy Electricals (up​ 0.88 per cent)​, Oil - Natural Gas Corporation (up​ 0.71 per cent)​, Steel Authority of India (up​ 0.64 per cent)​, General Insurance (up​ 0.37 per cent)​, NMDC Ltd (up​ 0.2 per cent)​, Power Finance Corporation (up​ 0.12 per cent)​, Power Grid Corporation of India (up​ 0.11 per cent)​ and Container Corporation of India (up​ 0.06 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSE index was trading 0.35 per cent up at 2913.65 around 12:01 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 9.15 points at 11838.55 , while the BSE Sensex was up 53.16 points at 40416.39 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, ONGC and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
