NEW DELHI: Shares of the telecom major Bharti Airtel slipped nearly 2 per cent in the early trade on Tuesday, ahead of its March quarter results due later in the day.At 09:51 am, the stock of the company was trading at Rs 398.50 apiece on BSE, down 1.09 per cent.The Gopal Vittal-led company is likely to report subdued financial results for the March quarter on Tuesday.There are expectations that muted ARPU (average revenue per user) on account of renewed competition from Reliance Jio will impact its India revenue.Brokerage firms Kotak Securities and Sharekhan believe that the telecom major may report losses in Q4 FY18 for the first time in many years.
Sharekhan had predicted a net loss of Rs 72 crore during the quarter under review.
On the other hand, Kotak Securities projected Airtel to report a consolidated net loss of Rs 380 crore.
Motilal Oswal sees nearly 80 per cent yearly fall in net profit of Bharti Airtel in January-March.The company had last reported a net loss of Rs 7.07 crore in the third quarter of FY03, according to data available with corporate database Capitaline.
