The Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe confirmed the death of the third Covid-19 patient who had succumbed to the illness last night. The victim is a 73-year-old male from Maradana.

The ninth batch of 96 returnees after completion of the two-week-long quarantine process, left for their homes yesterday morning (1) from Damminna and Diyatalawa Quarantine Centres (QCs) after completion of medical procedures and receipt of their Quarantine Certificates.

The Immigration and Emigration Department extended the validity period of all types of visas issued to foreigners who are currently residing in Sri Lanka until May 12, 2020 due tothe COVID-19 epidemic situation presently prevailing the country.

A meeting was held yesterday afternoon (01) between the government and the UNP at the Presidential Secretariat regarding the countrysituation due to the Coronavirus threat, under the patronage of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
